You Are Not Alone!

And before you despair, I want you to know that many women go through this exact same realization. You've busted your butt for years, you've learned a ton, you've taken course after course, you've watched videos, read books, joined groups ... and yet, you still have the sense that others know things you don't. You're beginning to realize you've done everything you can to get where you want to go, but there seems to just be something you're not getting or understanding. What is it?

 

 

Let's start at the beginning ... a long, long time ago. When you were growing up, did you hear statements like:

  • don't toot your own horn
  • you're a girl, and girls don't do that
  • don't be selfish
  • you'd better tamp down that ego
  • you better get off your higher horse
  • just who do you think you are

Yeah, that was many of us, and those thoughts have been carried in your subconscious mind into your adult world. You don't even know it's happening because it's not in your conscious mind. 

And with that, I'd like to say 2 things.

Thing 1: this can change once you know how, this course is "the how". 

Thing 2: learning to love is ALWAYS beneficial, no matter your age.

What is self-love, you may be asking. I'm going to tell you what it is, but first I'd like to show you what it's not:

  • It's not staying busy to be busy.
  • It's not worrying, feeling anxious, and hoping others like you.
  • It's not feeling like an imposter, like you aren't enough.
  • It's not feeling numb, overwhelmed, or lost.
  • It's not feeling like you aren't important, or don't matter.
  • It's not wondering what you've done wrong.
  • It's not giving more to others than you give to yourself.

And now for what self-love is. Self-love is more than a feeling. It is an action step. It is a skill - a skill anyone can learn. It's a conscious choice that a person decides is important enough to make. You are important enough to make this choice for yourself. What that means is this ...

 Self-love is treating yourself with the same love, respect, and dignity as you treat others.

 

Again, don't feel alone if your self-love is lacking. Most people - over 85% - were never taught how to love themselves, not at home, at school, in organizations, or business. What is taught is how to care for and love others, but not yourself. Showing love for yourself was considered egotistical, rude, and selfish, but I'm here to tell you ...

Self-love is not egotistical, it's not rude, and it's definitely not selfish!

 

Self-love is by far the best gift we can give ourselves. It's the most important decision we can ever make. Want to know why? Because like a stone hitting the water, the impact of learning to love and care for yourself on a deep level will naturally force out ripples that positively affect every aspect of your life ... including your home, family, business, volunteering, community, and so much more.
